It is also an opportunity for those interested, but new to anime to attend Manifest and experience different anime series of new and old, to become acquainted with anime traders for anime merchandise, and to befriend other anime fans.
The purpose of Manifest is to bring new and old anime material to people in a theatre setting, something that is rarely done in Australia except at major and minor film festivals. Animavericks Magazine was created for the first time about two years ago with a humble beginning as Monash Caulfield Anime Club voluntary magazine, which was distributed specifically only to Monash Caulfield Anime Club members starting from the middle of 2004. The magazine was managed solely by MCAC committees initially and the size of the magazine was only A5. However, soon after, some of Monash Caulfield Anime Club committees realized the opportunity to grow this magazine into becoming Australia’s Official Anime Magazine and the name “Animavericks” were born for the first time in August 2005.
We were still a club magazine managed by club committees and published by MCAC committees until the end of 2005, where many people starting to pick up some interest in helping out with the magazine and eventually by the middle of 2006, Our 4th Edition of Animavericks came out and by that time, Animavericks Magazine was totally out with new look and ran separately as fully commercialized magazine under separate management, not anymore managed by MCAC but also. The fourth edition of Animavericks was the first A4 edition created as well the first edition to get sold out in the public by the first time is out for sale in many great anime and games conventions in Melbourne and Sydney such as: Manifest, Doujicon, E Games Expo, and Autosalon’s Game1. With total of 500 copies of the first 4th Edition sold out to the public in just three conventions time and with total of 100 subscribers in just within one semester time have proven that Animavericks has got a lot of supports from Australian anime, video games and J-Pop fans as Australia’s innovative Anime, Manga & J-Pop magazine.
